Here's a little about me.

I'm a world-traveled scientific scuba diving instructor dedicated to teaching. I have one degree in Physics and another in Leadership/Management. With about a decade of eLearning development experience, a penchant for quality, a passion for innovation, and a fine attention to detail, I am ready to create your next course. Work Experience

Scientific Diving Officer, eLearning Developer, '11-'21

I was hired at the University of Miami for teaching, maintaining and repairing equipment, and helping with underwater research. After my first year, I added eLearning development to my job duties. I turned PowerPoint slides into eLearning modules to move the program to a hybrid teaching model in anticipation of higher enrollment. I regularly conducted student performance analyses to make updates and modifications, all leading to measurable increases in student performance.

Recreational Scuba Instructor, '09-'11

After learning to dive in South Africa, I moved to Hawai'i in 2009 to become a scuba instructor and spent a year traveling the world teaching diving.  After Hawai'i, I worked in the Philippines, Indonesia, St. Maarten, Egypt, Belize, Bonaire, and Miami. My travels have provided real-world experience in cultural awareness, diversity, and multiculturalism.

Education

Master of Science, Leadership & Management, University of Miami Herbert Business School

In addition to leadership and management, the curriculum included accounting, finance, marketing, statistics, negotiation, culture, and public speaking.  It was led by renowned faculty members and students were regularly put in team scenarios where we acquired experience collaborating, leading, and managing.  With a 4.0GPA, I earned the title of valedictorian for my graduating class.

Bachelor of Science, Physics, Denison University

Physics taught me how to break down complex educational challenges, address them at the core, and piece them back together to create complete learning solutions.  It taught me to harness my attention to detail so that even minor details are not overlooked in the content I create.  It furthermore helped develop a strong work ethic and dedication to the content I create; I will not finish until the project is completed on time.

Equipment

Instructional designers and eLearning developers can only be as efficient as our slowest tools, so I designed a workstation built for productivity.  This professional setup is optimized for creating and developing content in the modern age.

► Monitor: Dell U4320Q: 43" 4k monitor helps to work in fine detail and multitask with several windows simultaneously.

► CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 3950X tremendously cuts down on latency to get the final product to you sooner.

► Hard Drive: Sabrent Rocket Nvme PCIe Gen4 SSD gives me instant access to the operating system and software.

► RAM: G.SKILL 32GB DDR4 3600 for multi-tasking with powerful programs.

► GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Super easily handles any video processing or rendering I throw at it.

► Audio: Rode Procaster mic, Cloudlifter preamp, and Focusrite interface provide clear, professional audio.

Personal

I am a world-traveled scuba diving viola player and although I am dedicated to my work, I am even more devoted to my family and church community at home in Miami.  My incredible wife and I met at church, got engaged there, and then in 2017 were married there.  In 2019, we were blessed with a son who has brought us more joy than we ever imagined possible.
